Coding with headphones
I am posting this from my iPhone simulator.
And this as well.
Hello
Flyfishing
It’s a nice day, and I think I’m going to go catch some trout (or a least I hope I’ll catch some!).
The 30th of September is the last day of trout season, at least on the Grand River here in Southern Ontario. Hopefully it won’t be too busy.
Settling In
Over the past few days, Tamara and I have cleaned and organized our new place in Waterloo, ON. I like it. She likes it. It’s all good. We bought a 32” full HD LCD TV the other day to replace the pawn shop refurbished unit that came with the place. TV looks good now!
Home
We’re home! After ~4600 kms (from Vancouver to Waterloo), we finally made it home. We had a good drive, although it was partially marred by the occasional rainstorm. We build a box for the back of the truck and tarped it. Luckily, we did a good job on the tarping, since nothing was wet. Now just to get unpacked adn organized.
Traveling
On the road again. So last Saturday, Tamara and I did the mock wedding/reception thing. It was pretty cool. Lots of people, drinks and laughs. A good time was had by all. Now we’re slowly making our way back to Waterloo. Yesterday we drove fom Vancouver to Calgary - a pretty simple 10 hour drive. We had all our stuff in the back of the truck and had to tarp it down good since it was raining hard (and still is). Today I built a box for the back of the truck so that we can carry even more stuff. The remainer is going into storage here in Calgary. This coming Monday (the 25th), we’re headed east. We hope to make Thunder Bay by the 27th for a quick visit with my dad and then a straight shot home with a brief visit to my mom on the way though Wiarton.
Married Now
On Friday, Tamara and I got married. It was cool. We had a pretty good turnout for the “small” ceremony - maybe 20-22 people. This coming Saturday is this “party” ceremony, in which we will dress up and re-enact the event. Strange but fun.
Tomorrow is the big day!
Tomorrow is the day that Tamara and I get married (legally, anyway). It should be nice. She’s looking forward to it and so am I. We have another (mock) ceremony on the 16th as well so that friends and family that couldn’t attend the first one will be able to come. Looking forward to it!
In Downtown Vancouver
Well, after 3 weeks staying in a short term rental on Renfrew and Hastings, we’re now downtown in a hotel at Davie and Denman. Much better here. More things to do. Tons of coffee, so not longer is there a need to drive for half an hour!
